Burning the candle at both ends — newborn in the house, doing a full week in the office, and then going directly to the building site on Saturday and Sunday for extra honest toil.
Can’t be accused of not working hard for my family, at least…
The snows have come — albeit it earlier in the week, so we’re getting the tail end of the thaw now. Alas it is still bitterly cold so snow had given way to lethal ice. Driving out of the Raveloe valley this morning was hairy — a few moments where I couldn’t honestly say I had any control of the car.

Met Mr and Mrs B in Milby for breakfast and so they could meet Wilfred — very jolly. They all went shopping with Mrs Revivalist for the afternoon, leaving me alone to work on the house.
Very directed toil today — finishing the put for foundations, followed by mixing and pouring cement. Four full mixers in all – eight barrows. Mr G will lay a new wall here next week.
Followed that up by moving aggregate up the garden, wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow. Not so easy up the slope with snow and ice under, I would have left it for another day but it needs to move so the landscaper can excavate the garden.
Home, Pizza supper. Back tomorrow.
