The Smallman Cometh

No writing for a while, indeed no building work for a while — but hours after I wrote my last journal entry our first born decided to make an appearance.

After a somewhat confused and distressing 30 or so hours our baby boy arrived after what was actually — once it actually got going properly — a pretty simple and quick labour.

So welcome to the world baby Wilfred. The first week has been remarkable — our lives have changed massively and forever but really everything has been better and, dare I say it, easier than expected.

We’ve been out and about in the car every day since he came — a remarkable testimony to the strength and character of Mrs Revivalist. I’ve also gotten into the habit of taking him out in the Silver Cross for a long walk every morning to give mother some time to nap, shower, etc.

He seems a very good natured child — no unnecessary crying, hungry, sleeps well, etc. I hope this continues long into the future.

So that’s it. We’re a family of three now living in tumble down Raveloe house. Must get back to work on Milby soon so we can have a proper home for our little family!
