Working week, day the seventh

1903 meets 1973

Frustratingly slow start this morning, but at least there was some progress at Milby when Mrs & Mrs H and I got there. Mr H spent most the day doing electrics to get down the final stud wall to the utility room, meaning the tiles can come up ready for a damp proof course to be relaid later.

I largely carried on upstairs with the bathroom, getting out the final and cleaning up the mess. This took me most the day! I also had a trip into Milby proper to get materials to repair the staircase and get lunch. I found this quite frustrating as we’d decided to eat so late everything was closed, of course.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but a number of the staircase boards were snapped when Mr H dropped the old hot water cylinder down the case a week or so back. I’m very sad about that.

Meanwhile back at Raveloe, Mrs Revivalist is getting very close to giving birth, I feel. She’s having near constant Braxton Hicks type things and looks like she’s got a watermelon under her jumper. I’ll be a father soon.

Lasagne for dinner.
