Working week, day the sixth

Today Mr G made the Donald proud, completing his fantastic curved wall. This will provide a really elegant horizon for the sight line from the front door, and I can’t wait to see it plastered and with cornicing, skirting etc applied.

I again laboured around the house and again got frustratingly little done.

This is a real landmark — the walls in mark the first time something positive has been put into the house, as opposed to subject demolition, which is all we’ve done so far otherwise!

Every time I got close to making some progress on my own projects, I was called away for some other purpose.

As well as cutting block and mixing mortar, there was also an emotional mater to console and Mrs Revivalist who managed to get very lost in the country lanes among diversions and needed rescuing.

Mater and Mr G returned home at the end of the day, though G will drive south again Monday to do a little more wall work.

Topped the day off with a curry in town with Mr and Mrs B from down the road. Mr and Mrs H, my in-laws, are coming down tonight. Hopefully we’ll get plenty done this weekend too, before I have to go back to work Monday.
